Stray Dog Bites Over 130 People in Four Hours in Kalyan's Adharwadi

A white stray dog allegedly bit over 130 people in a four-hour span on Sunday evening in the Adharwadi area of Kalyan. According to officials from the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), the aggressive animal began attacking passersby near Sandeep Hotel, biting a victim approximately every two minutes.

Victims of the attacks were rushed to the KDMC-run Rukmini Bai Hospital in Kalyan, where medical staff administered anti-rabies vaccines. Dr. Sandeep Pagare, a doctor at Rukmini Bai Hospital, confirmed the sudden influx of patients. He stated that 130 dog bite victims visited the hospital on Sunday to receive rabies injections, with all patients reporting that they had been bitten by a white dog.

Following the series of attacks, authorities launched a multi-agency search operation to locate and capture the animal. Personnel from both the Khadakpada and MHB police stations joined the search during the night. They were assisted by a dedicated team from the KDMC's stray dog department, which was called in specifically to catch the dog.

Local corporators and their workers also joined the search effort alongside police officers and municipal teams. The search operation to locate the white dog remained underway in the area.
