Strict Legal Action Ordered Over Illegal Waste Dumping in Aarey Eco-Sensitive Zone

Unauthorised dumping of construction debris, garbage, and soil has been detected on government land inside the Eco-Sensitive Zone of Aarey Milk Colony, adjacent to the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR).

The illicit dumping was uncovered on June 30 at 11:30 am during a routine check by Assistant Security Officer Vijay Bhagoji Wagh and his team. Officials found that six to seven dumper loads of waste, consisting of soil, rock debris, garbage, and construction material, had been abandoned within the jurisdiction of the colony.

Following the discovery, Aarey Milk Colony Chief Executive Officer Shrikant Shirpurkar conducted a site verification to inspect the affected area. A formal panchnama was then drawn up in the presence of two independent witnesses to officially record the violation.

In response to the threat posed to the protected Eco-Sensitive Zone, the Aarey Milk Colony administration has ordered strict legal action regarding the illegal disposal of waste on government property.
