Supriya Sule Shares Emotional Raksha Bandhan Tribute to Late Brother Ajit Pawar

NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule paid an emotional tribute to her late brother and former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Raksha Bandhan, sharing a heartfelt message and old family photographs on X.
The message marked the first Raksha Bandhan since Ajit Pawar's death seven months ago. Sule shared a series of pictures capturing moments with her brother, including past celebrations where she was seen tying a rakhi to him while sharing candid smiles.
In her note addressed to 'Dada', Sule expressed the difficulty of coping with the loss, stating that this year's festival felt distinctly different without him. She reflected on the shock of his sudden demise and noted that she still struggles to accept that he is no longer present.
"Today is Raksha Bandhan... but this time, you're not with us, and this realisation is making my heart deeply restless," Sule wrote in her post.
Reflecting on their early years, Sule recalled their childhood memories, including their fights, affection, and mutual pride, noting that their bond had developed over years of growing up together. She shared that she often feels he might suddenly return, giving her the chance to tie a rakhi and spend time talking and laughing with his sisters and family.
"The void created by your absence can never be filled," she added, writing that she hoped his love and blessings would always stay with her.
Ajit Pawar, who served as Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, died on January 28, 2026, when a Learjet 45 aircraft crashed while attempting to land at Baramati Airport in Pune district. The crash claimed the lives of all five individuals on board, including Pawar, his personal security officer, a flight attendant, and two pilots.
The tragedy had sparked widespread mourning across Maharashtra, with political leaders and supporters offering tributes to the veteran politician.
