Tempo Carrying Export Goods Catches Fire on Waghbil Flyover in Thane

A tempo carrying export goods caught fire on the Waghbil flyover on Ghodbunder Road in Thane on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026. The incident caused a temporary disruption to vehicular movement on the busy carriageway, though officials confirmed that no injuries were reported.

The vehicle was traversing the Waghbil flyover when the fire broke out. According to officials, the tempo was transporting export goods at the time of the incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat confirmed the incident and noted that traffic on the vital Ghodbunder route was temporarily disrupted as a consequence of the fire on the flyover.

The incident affected the morning commute on the busy Thane road. However, authorities reported that the situation did not result in any casualties or injuries to anyone on the busy route.
