Tension in Mira Road Society Over Sacrificial Goats, Heavy Police Deployed

Tension gripped the Poonam Cluster Society in Mumbai's Mira Road on Tuesday after a confrontation broke out between residents over goats being brought into the complex ahead of Eid Al-Adha.

Police rushed to the residential society and deployed heavy security to control the situation and prevent further unrest following the clashes.

According to reports, the conflict began when a group of residents objected to the entry of goats into the residential premises for the festival's qurbani sacrifice. Those opposing the move cited concerns regarding society rules, the maintenance of common areas, and hygiene within the compound.

The disagreement quickly escalated into heated arguments between two groups of residents. The altercation turned into a confrontation, causing panic across the locality before authorities intervened.

Following the incident, heavy police personnel were stationed across the premises to maintain law and order. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have sought a ban on performing qurbani within housing societies and public spaces.
