Thane Mayor Reviews Ganesh Chaturthi Preparations and Mandal Clearances

Thane Mayor Sharmila Pimpalolkar held an urgent meeting on Tuesday to review administrative preparations across Thane ahead of the upcoming Ganeshotsav festival, which is scheduled to begin on September 14.
According to an official statement, the mayor directed all civic departments and related agencies to work in close coordination to manage the festival operations efficiently and avoid inconvenience to the public.
During the meeting, Mayor Pimpalolkar instructed civic officials to immediately review and clear all pending permissions submitted by local Ganesh mandals. The administration was asked to expedite the process to assist mandal organizers in completing their arrangements on time.
The review focused on multiple critical aspects of civic management, including road repair work across the city, overall cleanliness and sanitation drives, manpower deployment, and comprehensive traffic arrangements.
Safety measures at idol immersion sites formed a key focus of the discussion. The civic body's plans include making additional trolleys available, deploying round-the-clock staff at designated immersion spots, and maintaining safety protocols to handle the heavy footfall of devotees during the festival.
