Thane Police Launch 18 WhatsApp Numbers for Reporting Traffic Violations

Residents in Thane can now report traffic violations directly to authorities through WhatsApp, following the rollout of dedicated contact lines across the city's traffic subdivisions.
The Thane traffic authorities have issued 18 official numbers corresponding to different traffic subdivisions to facilitate direct reporting from the public.
According to traffic officials, all complaints submitted through the messaging platform will be verified by the concerned officer. Following proper verification of the submitted evidence and details, e-challan action will be initiated against the offending motorists.
The initiative was launched on the directions of Thane Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre and Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Dnyaneshwar Chavan to improve traffic enforcement and enable citizen participation in monitoring violations across Thane.
