The Maharashtra Police have arrested three more individuals from Uttar Pradesh in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 question paper leak. The arrests, reported on July 3, 2026, by officials in Thane, were executed by a state-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the leak that forced the postponement of the examination last month.
The state-appointed SIT, which is actively investigating the alleged leak of the examination papers, tracked the three suspects to Uttar Pradesh. These arrests mark a significant development in the paper leak case, bringing the total number of individuals apprehended by the police to seven.
The leak of the TET 2026 question paper had led to the official postponement of the examination last month, causing delays for aspiring teachers across the state. Following the disruption, the state government appointed the Special Investigation Team to investigate the source of the leak and apprehend those responsible.
According to police officials, the investigation is ongoing as the SIT continues to look into how the question paper was leaked and whether more individuals are involved. The three suspects arrested in Uttar Pradesh are expected to face further questioning as part of the broader probe.
With seven arrests now made in the case, the Maharashtra Police are continuing their efforts to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident. No further details regarding the identities of the suspects or the specific charges have been officially released at this time.
