Track Trespassing at Borivali Disrupts Western Railway Suburban Services

Western Railway suburban services experienced disruptions on Saturday afternoon following a track trespassing incident near Platform No. 2 at Borivali, leading to subsequent delays across the corridor.

The incident took place between 3:42 pm and 3:54 pm near Borivali station. As a precautionary measure, railway authorities temporarily regulated trains approaching the affected section to ensure passenger safety. This regulation caused a bunching of suburban local trains along the stretch between Malad and Borivali.

Although train operations through the area were normalised once the trespassing situation was resolved, the disruption continued to have knock-on effects on the Western Railway network throughout the evening.

The resulting delays were evident further down the line at other stations. At Khar station, a Churchgate-bound local train scheduled to arrive at 5:15 pm reached the platform on time but was held until approximately 5:30 pm while awaiting clearance to proceed. A following local train, scheduled to arrive at 5:18 pm, was also delayed and reached Khar platform at around 5:33 pm.

The temporary stoppage and resulting backlog of services caused inconvenience to commuters travelling on the suburban line during the late afternoon and evening hours.
