Traffic diversions announced in Dadar and Wadala for Ashadhi Ekadashi

The Mumbai Traffic Police have officially issued a comprehensive traffic advisory announcing temporary road closures, diversions, and vehicular restrictions in the Dadar-Wadala area. These measures are being put in place ahead of the annual Ashadhi Ekadashi festival, which is celebrated at the Vitthal Mandir, also known as Prati Pandharpur, located in Wadala.

The temporary traffic restrictions are scheduled to take effect starting from 6:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026. According to the police advisory, these regulations will remain actively in force until 8:00 AM on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The main celebrations for the religious festival will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, when a massive gathering of Hindu devotees is expected to visit the temple.

With a large influx of devotees anticipated to descend upon the Wadala temple, the Mumbai Traffic Police have designed these arrangements to prevent severe traffic congestion. The primary objective of the temporary diversions and closures is to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles while prioritizing the safety of the public and the pilgrims attending the event.

In light of these upcoming changes, the traffic police have advised local motorists to plan their journeys well in advance to avoid getting caught in traffic. Citizens and commuters traveling through the Dadar-Wadala vicinity have also been urged to cooperate fully with the on-duty traffic personnel and adhere to the temporary arrangements.

By coordinating with the established traffic management plan, officials hope to ensure both the smooth flow of vehicular movement and the safe, orderly conduct of the major religious event. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the specified hours of the restrictions.
