Traffic Restrictions Announced Around Juhu ISKCON Temple for Gokulashtami
The Mumbai Traffic Police’s Western Suburbs Division has announced traffic restrictions and diversions around the Hare Rama Hare Krishna Mandir (ISKCON) in Juhu ahead of Gokulashtami celebrations on September 3 and 4. The temporary measures have been arranged under the jurisdiction of the Santacruz Traffic Division to manage vehicular movement and ensure public safety, with a large number of devotees expected to visit the shrine during the festival.
The traffic regulations will be put into effect across two operational windows during the celebrations. On September 3, the restrictions will begin at 3:30 pm and remain in place until 2:00 am on September 4. On September 4, the curbs will take effect from 4:00 pm and continue until 2:00 am on September 5.
To prevent congestion around the temple vicinity, parking has been prohibited for all categories of vehicles across several major roads. The designated no-parking zones include Janardhan Mhatre Road, Mukteshwar Devalaya Marg, Juhu Church Road, and Gandhi Gram Road. Parking will also be barred on Alfred Criedo Road, Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg, Shyamrao Parulekar Marg (N.S. Road No. 13), Balraj Sahani Road, A.B. Nair Road, and Devle Road (Military Road).
Authorities have also instituted no-entry rules on several corridors. The stretch from Chandok Chowk to Mukteshwar Devalaya Marg will be shut from north to south for all vehicular traffic, with exemptions allowed only for emergency services, VVIP vehicles, temple vehicles, and vehicles belonging to local residents. In addition, south-to-north traffic will not be permitted from Alfred Criedo Road to Mukteshwar Devalaya Marg.
Further restrictions will see the route from Shyamrao Parulekar Marg to Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg completely closed to all vehicular movement. At the Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg–Devle Road junction, vehicles will not be allowed to travel from east to west towards Military Road. To facilitate traffic flow, the stretch between Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg and Mukteshwar Devalaya Marg will operate as a one-way road during the enforcement hours.
The Mumbai Traffic Police have appealed to motorists to cooperate with traffic personnel on duty, adhere strictly to the posted restrictions, and take alternative routes to prevent delays during the festival.
