Tree Collapse Near Wagle Estate Police Station In Thane Injures One, Damages 10 Vehicles

A tree collapsed near the Wagle Estate Police Station in Thane on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, injuring a local resident and damaging 10 parked vehicles. The incident, which occurred at approximately 8:35 AM, drew an immediate response from municipal emergency services to the busy locality.
The injured pedestrian was identified as 55-year-old Prabhat Vibhuti Jha, a resident of the nearby Yashodhan Nagar area. Jha sustained injuries when the tree fell, though the exact extent and severity of his medical condition were not immediately made public by the attending emergency teams or hospital officials.
The Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell reported that they received the first emergency alert regarding the tree collapse at 8:49 AM on June 30. Following the alert, emergency responders and personnel from the Disaster Management Cell were dispatched to the site near the Wagle Estate Police Station to manage the situation, assist the injured, and clear the blocked road.
The impact of the falling tree was severe enough to damage 10 parked vehicles in the area. Photos released by the Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell showed the tree limbs lying across the crushed roofs and hoods of several cars and other vehicles that had been parked along the street.
The incident took place during the morning hours, a time when the area near the police station typically sees pedestrian and vehicular activity. The sudden collapse of the tree surprised residents and passersby in the Yashodhan Nagar and Wagle Estate neighborhoods.
Emergency response teams from the Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell worked to secure the area around the Wagle Estate Police Station. The damaged vehicles, numbering ten in total, remained parked at the spot as officials documented the incident and began the process of removing the heavy branches.
As of Tuesday morning, the condition of the injured 55-year-old resident, Prabhat Vibhuti Jha, remains under monitoring. Local authorities have not yet confirmed which hospital Jha was taken to or the specific nature of his injuries.
