Two boys injured in second-floor window grill collapse on Dargah Road in Bhiwandi

Two minor boys, aged eight and ten, were injured on Sunday afternoon, July 12, 2026, after a window grill on a second-floor apartment collapsed at a residential building near a mosque on Dargah Road in Bhiwandi. The accident occurred when the two children fell to the ground after the metal structure suddenly gave way.

According to officials from the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNMC), the young boys had travelled to the area to visit their relatives. These relatives resided in a second-floor flat within the four-storey residential building located near the mosque on Dargah Road.

During their visit on Sunday afternoon, the two boys were sitting on the window grill of the second-floor apartment. While they were positioned on the structure, the grill unexpectedly gave way, causing both of the minor children to plummet from the second floor and hit the ground below.

The fall resulted in injuries to both of the children. Following the incident, officials from the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation were informed of the accident. On Monday, BNMC representatives confirmed the details of the collapse and the subsequent injuries sustained by the two young victims.

The incident took place in the Bhiwandi town area, which is situated in the Thane district of Maharashtra. The local municipal corporation officials have confirmed that the boys involved in the fall were aged eight and ten.

At the time of reporting, officials have not released specific details regarding the current medical condition of the two injured boys. Additionally, the municipal corporation has not provided further information regarding the structural integrity of the remaining window grills in the four-storey residential building on Dargah Road.
