Two Historic Parsi Bungalows on Bandra's Perry Cross Road to Be Replaced by Luxury Towers

Two early 20th-century Parsi-owned bungalows located on Perry Cross Road, off Carter Road in Bandra West, will be razed and redeveloped into luxury high-rise residential towers by real estate developer Supreme Universal.

The properties, named Gladhurst and Kavas Lodge, stand on a one-acre parcel of land belonging to the Wavelash and Sunbeam housing societies. The site represents the largest plot on the Carter Road coastline.

According to developer Supreme Universal, the redevelopment plan involves constructing two luxury residential towers where each apartment will feature a private terrace. The overall project carries an estimated sales potential of approximately Rs 1,500 crore.

Sunny Bijlani of Supreme Universal stated that the development is envisioned as one of the tallest residential towers in the neighbourhood, planned around open spaces, privacy, and expansive ocean views along the coastline.

The two bungalows currently house four Parsi tenants, all of whom have signed individual agreements with the developer to facilitate the redevelopment project.

The demolition of Gladhurst and Kavas Lodge marks the latest in a continuing trend of historic bungalow properties in Bandra West making way for high-rise residential complexes. Sizable plots and independent bungalows across the coastal suburb remain in high demand among developers and high-net-worth buyers.

Bungalow acquisitions in the area have seen significant activity in recent weeks, including the purchase of a 1926-built Parsi bungalow on St Martin Street by actor John Abraham for Rs 84 crore.
