Two Injured After Reactor Blast Sparks Fire At Tarapur MIDC Chemical Factory

A major reactor blast occurred at a chemical manufacturing unit in the Tarapur MIDC industrial area of Palghar district on Wednesday morning, sparking a fire and leaving two people injured. The incident took place at approximately 11:18 AM, causing panic in the surrounding industrial zone.
The explosion was reported at Plot No. N-74/2 M/2, a property belonging to the Chemat Company. The force of the reactor blast immediately triggered a fire at the chemical manufacturing facility.
Following the blast, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot. The emergency teams immediately engaged in firefighting operations to control the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading to other units in the busy Tarapur MIDC industrial area.
According to preliminary information from the site, the blast caused injuries to workers at a neighbouring company. The adjacent firm, Paradise Acid/Chemicals, is located at Plot No. N-74/1, right next to the Chemat Company unit where the explosion occurred.
Two persons who were working at Paradise Acid/Chemicals at the time of the incident sustained injuries. The injured individuals have been identified by authorities as Pramod and Kamlesh. Both workers were immediately shifted to Tunga Hospital to receive medical treatment for their injuries.
As firefighting operations continued, authorities remained at the site to oversee rescue and safety operations. The emergency teams worked to secure the area and ensure no other individuals were trapped or injured.
The exact cause of the reactor blast at the Chemat Company unit is yet to be officially confirmed by the authorities. Further details regarding the extent of the damage and the condition of the injured workers are awaited as the situation at the Tarapur MIDC site continues to develop.
