Two Injured as BEST Bus Suffers Brake Failure, Rams Vehicles in Andheri West

At least two people were injured after a Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) bus lost control due to an alleged brake failure and rammed into several vehicles on SV Road near Amboli in Andheri West on July 11.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:10 PM, according to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The BEST bus, which was operating on Route No. 242, was on its journey from Tilak Nagar to the Andheri Bus Station when the driver reportedly experienced a sudden brake failure.

Unable to stop, the bus collided with four cars, one auto-rickshaw, and a tempo. The multi-vehicle collision left a trail of mangled vehicles scattered across the busy roadway.

Following the mishap, the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) and local police personnel rushed to the site on SV Road. Emergency responders took necessary actions to secure the area and clear the damaged vehicles to restore the flow of traffic.

Two individuals sustained injuries in the collision and were quickly shifted to nearby hospitals. One of the victims, identified as 33-year-old Santalal Yadav, was taken to Cooper Hospital, where he was treated on an outpatient department (OPD) basis.

The other victim, 33-year-old Sakshi, was admitted to Millat Hospital for treatment. According to medical officials, both of the injured individuals are currently in stable condition.
