Two Men Feared Drowned At Pandavkada Waterfall In Kharghar During Separate Incidents
Two young men are feared to have drowned after being swept away by strong water currents in separate incidents at the Pandavkada waterfall in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The incidents occurred over consecutive days, on Friday evening, July 3, 2026, and Saturday morning, July 4, 2026, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Despite an extensive search operation, both individuals remain missing.
The first incident was reported at approximately 7:30 PM on Friday. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Mohammad Mobashir Mohammad Shahid, was swept away by the strong water current. Shahid was a resident of the Sagar Vihar Building, which is located near the Janata Garage in Taloja Phase I.
The second incident occurred the following morning at approximately 8:30 AM on Saturday. The victim, 19-year-old Shennon Gaspar Kini, also drowned after being caught in the strong water current at the same waterfall location. Kini was a resident of House No. 105, Kalina Kobaviri Village in Santacruz, Mumbai.
Following these reports, search operations were launched immediately. The Kharghar Police and the local Fire Brigade have been working in coordination to locate the two missing individuals. The search teams have been conducting their operations continuously since Friday, battling the difficult water conditions.
Despite their extensive efforts, officials confirmed that the bodies of both youths had not been recovered as of Saturday evening. Both individuals are feared dead as the search and recovery operations actively continue in the area.
Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Joshi of the Kharghar Police Station provided an update on the ongoing rescue efforts. "Search operations have been carried out continuously since yesterday with the help of the Fire Brigade. However, the bodies of both individuals have not yet been recovered," Joshi stated on Saturday.
The Kharghar Police and the Fire Brigade are maintaining their presence at the Pandavkada waterfall as they continue their efforts to trace the missing men.
