Two motorcycles damaged after footpath collapses in Nahur

A section of a footpath collapsed in Nahur, Mumbai, on the morning of Sunday, July 19, 2026, causing two parked motorcycles to fall into a large ditch. The incident occurred next to a local corporator's office in the ward, prompting immediate attention from civic authorities.

The collapse created a deep cavity in the pavement. The two motorcycles, which were parked on the footpath, fell directly into the resulting ditch and sustained damage.

Local resident Madhu Kotian noted the potential danger of the sudden cave-in, stating that the incident could have resulted in a serious tragedy had it occurred during busy hours.

Following the collapse, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) initiated efforts to secure and restore the area. According to civic officials, the damaged section of the footpath will be repaired, with the work expected to be completed within one to two days.
