Two Teenage Boys Drown in Water Tank at Cattle Shed in Aarey Colony

Two teenage boys drowned while swimming in a water tank at a cattle shed in Gautam Nagar, Aarey Colony, located in Goregaon (East) on Friday afternoon, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The incident took place around 1:48 p.m. near the Modern Bakery Junction in Aarey Colony. Following alerts, emergency response teams were mobilised to the site to rescue the two children.

The BMC dispatched personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the local police, a 108 Ambulance, and BMC ward staff to carry out the rescue operation at the cattle shed.

Both victims were pulled from the tank and taken to HBT Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead. The deceased were identified as Zaib Patel, 15, a Class 10 student, and Nakhib Patel, 13, a Class 9 student.

Ms. Dhumal, the principal of Jogeshwari Gunfa English Medium Secondary School, confirmed that both boys were students at the institution and had been marked absent from school on Friday.
