Two Women Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Vasai West

Two women sustained serious injuries after a speeding car rammed into their two-wheeler in the Giriz-Dongri area of Vasai West late on Saturday night. The driver of the car fled the scene immediately following the collision.

The incident took place at around 11:45 pm on the Vasai-Bhuigaon road. The two women were travelling on their two-wheeler when a car coming from the opposite direction at high speed crashed into their vehicle.

Both the woman operating the two-wheeler and the pillion rider suffered serious injuries in the collision. Local residents quickly rushed to the spot after the crash occurred and helped shift both injured women to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The accident was captured on a local CCTV camera. Police personnel are currently reviewing the video footage to identify the car and locate the driver who fled the area.

"We have received information about the incident. Further investigation is underway and the process of registering a case is in progress," said Saurabhi Pawar, senior police inspector at the Vasai police station.
