Uddhav Thackeray Demands Disqualification of Six Rebel MPs at Parbhani and Dharashiv Rallies

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday demanded the disqualification of six rebel Members of Parliament from his party during public rallies in Parbhani and Dharashiv, warning Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla that a failure to act would violate the Constitution.

Addressing the gatherings, Thackeray confirmed that his party has already written to Speaker Om Birla seeking immediate action against the rebel legislators. He argued that the rebel MPs cannot justify their defection simply by claiming a two-thirds majority.

"The rebel MPs cannot defect by merely achieving the two-thirds mark," Thackeray said. "Such a number is important when the party takes any stand and two-thirds of its members support it. If you do not follow the law, you will not be able to ask others to follow the law. History will record you as the Lok Sabha Speaker who violated the Constitution."

Thackeray also targeted the rival Shiv Sena faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, claiming they have no future and would be discarded by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He alleged that the split in the Shiv Sena was politically engineered to curb the rise of certain BJP politicians and to secure numbers for constitutional changes.

During his address in Parbhani, Thackeray also spoke about a recent flight he shared with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis from Mumbai to Nagpur. Thackeray claimed Fadnavis looked helpless and lacked confidence, suggesting his political wings were being cut by his party bosses.

Fadnavis brushed aside the criticism, stating that he has the blessings of 14 crore people in Maharashtra and senior BJP leaders. He clarified that they sat on opposite sides of the flight and did not speak, noting that he spent the journey watching a movie on his mobile phone.
