Video of Man Posing Inside Mumbai Police Vehicle Sparks Concern Online

A video showing a civilian entering a Mumbai Police vehicle and posing for a social media reel has gone viral across platforms, raising serious questions about how an unauthorised person gained access to the official car in Mumbai.

In the viral clip, the man, identified as Vijay Harijan, is seen walking up to a parked Mumbai Police SUV from the driver's side and opening the door. He steps inside, closes the door, sits behind the steering wheel, and poses for the camera. The video was edited with a background audio track saying "Daddy's Home" and concludes with him seated inside the vehicle.

The footage carried the watermark of an Instagram account under the handle @harijan6282. Following its circulation online, users on social media began questioning the man's identity, whether he held any official affiliation with the Mumbai Police, and how a member of the public was permitted to enter a police vehicle unattended.

According to reports circulating online, the reel was subsequently removed from the Instagram account. However, the exact circumstances under which the video was filmed, including whether the individual was granted permission to enter the vehicle, have not been established.

The Mumbai Police have not released an official statement regarding the viral video. As a result, it is not yet clear precisely when or where in the city the clip was recorded, or whether any administrative or legal action has been initiated against the individual involved.

The incident follows a separate controversy reported weeks earlier involving a police vehicle on Mumbai's Coastal Road. In that earlier case, an individual allegedly took an unattended police car with the keys left inside near Tardeo, drove in the wrong direction towards Malabar Hill, collided with several barricades and another police vehicle, and was subsequently detained by the Gamdevi police.
