Villagers tie and beat three minors over alleged theft in Kharola village

Three minor boys were tied to a pole on a farm and brutally assaulted by villagers over the alleged theft of a borewell wire in Kharola village, located in the Renapur tehsil of Latur district. Following the incident, the Renapur Police registered two separate cases: one against the local villagers for the assault and another against the three minors for the alleged theft.
The incident came to light after a video of the assault began circulating widely on social media, sparking widespread outrage. The footage purportedly shows two of the minor boys tied to a pole on the farm while a man repeatedly beats them and hurls verbal abuses. The video also appears to show a third boy being assaulted by a group of local villagers.
According to the visual evidence, the minor boys repeatedly pleaded with the villagers to stop the assault. However, the villagers allegedly ignored their appeals and continued beating them.
The confrontation began when villagers accused the three minor boys of stealing wire from a borewell installed on a local farm. Instead of reporting the suspected theft to law enforcement authorities, the villagers allegedly took the law into their own hands, tying the children to the pole and launching the physical assault.
The viral footage of the incident drew sharp criticism from social media users. Many online commentators condemned the brutal actions of the villagers, arguing that even if the minors were suspected of theft, they should not have been subjected to such physical violence.
In response to the incident, the Renapur Police registered a case against the individuals accused of assaulting the children. At the same time, the police registered a separate case against the three minors regarding the alleged theft of the borewell wire from the farm.
The Renapur Police are currently investigating both registered cases and are examining all aspects of the incident.
