Viral Videos Capture Multiple Altercations Inside Mumbai Local Trains

Two separate physical altercations inside moving Mumbai local trains have surfaced on social media within a 24-hour span, prompting the Government Railway Police and railway authorities to examine the footage to identify those involved.
In one of the widely shared videos, two men were seen engaged in an intense physical scuffle inside a crowded men's compartment while the train was in motion. The footage captured the two individuals trading punches and verbal abuses as fellow commuters looked on. Several passengers quickly intervened to pull the men apart and de-escalate the situation. Despite being separated, both individuals reportedly continued to exchange verbal abuses. The exact train route and the trigger behind the altercation have not yet been established.
In a second incident captured on video, two women engaged in a physical confrontation inside a ladies' compartment on a Badlapur-CSMT local train. The recording shows the two commuters grabbing each other's hair and trading blows while the train was moving. Several women passengers in the compartment stepped in and attempted to separate the pair to halt the fight, though the scuffle reportedly continued for some time before calm was restored. The underlying reason behind the dispute remains unconfirmed.
Both altercations have raised concerns among daily commuters regarding safety inside the suburban rail network, which serves lakhs of passengers daily and experiences intense overcrowding during peak hours.
The Government Railway Police and railway authorities are currently reviewing the viral video clips to ascertain the circumstances surrounding both incidents. Officials are expected to verify the authenticity of the footage and trace the passengers involved before initiating formal action.
