Virar East Man Suffers Severe Head Injury After Tree Branch Falls Near Andheri Subway

A 47-year-old resident of Virar East sustained a severe head injury on Wednesday morning after a tree branch snapped and fell on him near the Andheri subway in Mumbai. The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 AM on July 8, 2026, while the pedestrian was walking to his workplace.

The victim has been identified as Adesh Gaikar. According to the Andheri police, Gaikar was walking towards his office with a friend at the time of the accident.

The two had recently arrived in the area, having got down at the Andheri railway station. They were walking together when the tree branch suddenly snapped and fell, striking Gaikar.

As a result of the impact, Gaikar suffered a serious head injury. Following the incident, the Andheri police launched an official investigation into the matter.
