Watchman Dies at Bandra's Bhabha Hospital After Being Hit by Scooter in Mahim

A 65-year-old watchman died after being knocked down by a speeding scooter on LJ Road in Mahim West on the morning of August 15. He was rushed to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra, where medical personnel declared him dead a few hours later.
The deceased was identified as Manoj Hruday Giri, 65, a native of Champaran, Bihar. Giri worked as a security watchman at Ganesh Apartment, located along LJ Road in Mahim West.
According to the Mahim police, the incident occurred around 5.15am on August 15 while Giri was crossing the road near Paradise Cinema. A two-wheeler, registered under number MH 01 FF 0326 and allegedly travelling at high speed, struck him as he was walking across the stretch.
Following the collision, police officials rushed the severely injured watchman to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra for emergency medical care. Despite medical intervention, Giri succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead by hospital doctors around 8.26am.
The rider of the two-wheeler was identified as Roshan Rajesh Joshi, 22, a resident of Gida Nagar in Cuffe Parade. Joshi sustained minor injuries in the crash and was taken into custody by the police.
Following a formal complaint submitted by the victim's younger brother, 26-year-old Dhruv Giri, the Mahim police registered a First Information Report against the rider under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.
