Western Railway Disruption Strands Commuters At Dadar Station After Technical Snags

A major disruption on the Western Railway network left commuters stranded and confused at Dadar station on Friday morning, June 26, 2026. The sudden railway chaos was triggered by twin technical snags, which severely impacted train services and forced Churchgate-bound trains to be turned back at Dadar during the busy morning commute.
The impact of the technical failure was heavily compounded by poor communication from the Western Railway administration, which left passengers entirely in the dark. Commuters struggled to understand what was happening on the tracks as they attempted to make their way to their destinations across the city.
At Dadar station, the confusion was further heightened by malfunctioning platform indicators. Instead of displaying the expected arrival and departure times of incoming trains, the electronic indicators displayed '00:00', leaving waiting passengers with no visual information regarding the status of the trains.
In addition to the malfunctioning platform indicators, there were few or no official announcements made over the station loudspeakers to explain the cause of the disruption. This lack of timely communication left hundreds of passengers waiting on the crowded platforms without any official guidance from station staff.
Western Railway’s otherwise active social media handles also failed to provide immediate assistance, remaining completely silent for over an hour after the disruption first began. As a direct result of this silence, stranded passengers were forced to turn to social media platforms and rely on fellow commuters for updates and information regarding the ongoing train delays.
The incident on Friday morning left commuters frustrated as they had to navigate the major transit disruption and twin technical snags with virtually no official communication or support from the railway administration.
