Woman gives birth to baby aboard moving local train near Thane station

A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby aboard a moving local train near Thane station on Saturday evening, prompting a swift emergency response from fellow passengers and railway authorities.

The delivery took place at approximately 5:34 pm on a slow local train traveling from Titwala to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). The incident occurred as the train was approaching Thane station.

According to railway officials, the woman went into labor while the train was en route. Seeing the emergency, fellow commuters inside the coach and railway personnel rose to the occasion to assist her. Working together, they managed to ensure the baby was safely delivered inside the coach before the train reached the platform.

Immediately after the train arrived at Thane, railway police rushed to the coach to provide assistance. The mother and her newborn baby were then shifted to the Thane Civil Hospital for a medical examination and post-delivery care.

The incident drew widespread appreciation from passengers at the station, who praised the prompt response of both the commuters and the railway authorities. Railway officials stated that the health conditions of both the mother and the newborn baby were being monitored at the hospital.
