15-Year-Old US National Injured in Juhu Hit-and-Run on NS Road

A 15-year-old American schoolgirl sustained multiple injuries in a hit-and-run incident after being struck by a speeding motorcyclist opposite Bhaidas Hall on NS Road in Juhu on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place around 8.15 am when the teenager was returning home from her tuition classes. She was walking alongside a friend to collect her tiffin before heading to school. While her friend waited on one side of NS Road, the teenager attempted to cross over to reach her residence.
CCTV cameras in the area captured the moment the speeding two-wheeler crashed into the girl, throwing her off onto the street. The rider fled the scene immediately after the collision without offering assistance.
Following the crash, the injured teenager managed to stumble back home with the help of her friend. Her family promptly rushed her to a nearby private hospital for emergency medical attention.
Attending doctors confirmed that the girl suffered a concussion, an injured jaw, and multiple bruises on her leg. The impact also left her unable to recall the incident. Her mother shared their worry regarding the trauma, stating, "We were deeply concerned when she couldn't recollect the crash at all.. she had blanked it out."
The Juhu Police have registered a case of rash driving and are actively looking for the unidentified motorcyclist. Officials are examining local CCTV footage to track down the vehicle and rider. This crash marks the second instance in recent times across Mumbai's western suburbs where a speeding biker has knocked down and injured a school-going student.
The collision has also prompted civic concerns regarding pedestrian safety along the busy Juhu stretch. Local activists noted that speedbreakers previously removed during Metro construction work had not been restored by authorities, leaving the road prone to speeding motorists. Dhaval Shah of the Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizens Association stated that representatives have approached the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to demand the immediate restoration of speedbreakers along the road.
