Anna Hazare Admitted to Bombay Hospital in South Mumbai, Condition Improving

Social activist Anna Hazare is responding well to treatment and his condition is gradually improving after being admitted to Bombay Hospital in south Mumbai, doctors said on Tuesday.

The 89-year-old activist was brought to the hospital on Monday night between 8:30 pm and 9:00 pm from Ahilyanagar district. He had earlier received initial treatment at a local facility in Ahilyanagar after his health deteriorated due to a viral infection and acute dehydration.

Dr Gautam Bhansali, General Physician at Bombay Hospital, stated that Hazare was experiencing extreme tiredness and general weakness alongside a mild viral illness at the time of admission. Due to severe dehydration, medical evaluations indicated a slight impact on his kidneys.

Hazare was placed in the hospital's emergency department for further medical investigation and ongoing evaluation. Medical staff are conducting a comprehensive assessment, which may include a 2D echocardiogram, sonography, urine tests, and other diagnostic examinations.

According to Dr Bhansali, Hazare's overall response to medical care remains positive. The physician noted that Hazare is fully oriented, speaking well, and eating properly as his health continues to make steady progress.
