BMC Cuts Power and Water to Mumbai Central's Orchid City Centre Mall

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has ordered the disconnection of water and electricity supplies to Orchid City Centre Mall on Bellasis Road in Mumbai Central. The enforcement action follows directives issued by the Supreme Court concerning the fire-damaged commercial premises.
As part of the measures, the civic body issued a joint notice to the mall's owners and developers, along with occupants and users of the various shops and units located inside the complex. The notice directs all occupants to immediately vacate the premises.
The municipal corporation has also instructed that no individual may enter or use the mall structure until due permission is granted by the competent authority.
Under the civic directive, electricity supply to the building will be disconnected, with an exception made only for power strictly required to carry out construction-related work at the site.
In addition to cutting off essential utilities and restricting access to the complex, the civic administration stated that appropriate action will also be taken regarding municipal licences associated with the premises.
