Central Railway to Run 246 Ganpati Special Trains With Halts in Thane

Central Railway will operate 246 special trains for festival devotees during the Ganpati Festival from September 11 to September 27, 2026, with multiple routes scheduling halts at Thane station.

Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Central Railway, stated that of the 246 Ganpati Special trains, 184 will be mixed specials comprising AC, sleeper, and unreserved coaches. The remaining 62 services will operate as unreserved special trains.

Several train services running from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) to Konkan destinations will halt at Thane. These include the CSMT-Sawantwadi Road Daily Special (01103/01104) running 32 services, the CSMT-Sawantwadi Road Daily Special (01151/01152) offering 34 services, and the CSMT-Ratnagiri Daily Special (01153/01154) providing 32 services.

Additional trains stopping at Thane from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus include the LTT-Sawantwadi Road Daily Special (01171/01172) with 34 services, the LTT-Sawantwadi Road Bi-weekly Special (01131/01132) with 8 services, the LTT-Sawantwadi Road Weekly Special (01129/01130) with 4 services, and the LTT-Ratnagiri 5-days-a-week Special (01167/01168) with 22 services.

The mixed special trains will feature a coach composition of two AC-3Tier, 12 Sleeper Class, six General Second class coaches, and two Second seating cum Guard’s brake vans. Key halts along these routes include Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, and Ratnagiri.
