Central Railway to Run Four Ganpati Special Trains Between CSMT and Madgaon

Central Railway announced that it will operate four additional Ganpati Special train services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai and Madgaon to clear the anticipated passenger rush during Ganesh Chaturthi.
According to an official statement, the special trains are scheduled to run on September 11 and September 13, 2026. The services are designed to provide extra travel options for passengers commuting between Mumbai, Goa, and various destinations along the Konkan route during the festive season.
Railway authorities confirmed that bookings for reserved accommodation on train number 01007 will open on August 29, 2026.
The addition of these special services comes as part of Central Railway's measures to manage the heavy travel demand typically witnessed along the Konkan railway corridor ahead of the annual festival.
Passengers planning to travel between Mumbai and Madgaon during this period can avail of the reserved accommodation once bookings open on the specified date.
