Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Unveils First Look Ahead of Parel Aagman Procession

The Chinchpoklicha Chintamani mandal unveiled the first glimpse of this year's Ganpati idol on social media ahead of its grand Aagman Sohla on August 29, setting off celebrations across the Lalbaug-Parel belt in Mumbai.

The first look revealed that the organisers chose to retain the traditional appearance of the revered idol. Devotees and netizens noted the familiar serene expression and graceful features, describing the idol as maintaining a classic look that generations of visitors have associated with the mandal during Ganeshotsav.

While the idol retains its traditional facial aesthetic, the mandal selected an elaborate spiritual theme for this year's festivities. Lord Tirupati Balaji served as the central inspiration behind the idol and the broader decorative setup at the pandal.

The grand Aagman procession was scheduled to begin at noon from the Parel Central Railway Workshop Ground. From there, the Chintamani idol travels across the Lalbaug-Parel corridor amid music and celebrations, accompanied by thousands of devotees making their way through the streets before reaching the mandap later at night.

To manage the massive influx of devotees arriving from across Mumbai to witness the procession, security measures were stepped up throughout the area. Mumbai Police personnel were deployed in large numbers to enforce crowd-control protocols and maintain heightened surveillance along the entire route.
