CIDCO Sets September 15 Deadline For Navi Mumbai Metro Card Refunds

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has urged commuters travelling on Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 along the Belapur-Pendhar corridor to claim refunds for any unutilised balance remaining on their discontinued closed-loop smart cards by September 15.

The refund notice follows the deactivation of the older closed-loop ticketing cards, which were phased out after the introduction of the SBI National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) on June 3 earlier this year. With the introduction of the new system, the previous cards were discontinued and are no longer valid for travel or fare payments at any metro station along the route.

Commuters who still possess the older closed-loop cards with an active monetary balance have been advised to complete the necessary refund procedures before the September 15 deadline. CIDCO has appealed to passengers not to wait until the final date and to initiate the refund process at the earliest to prevent any last-minute inconvenience.

According to an official statement, the NCMC has now completely replaced the older cards as the designated card-based fare payment system for Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1.

“Since the introduction of the SBI National Common Mobility Card, the earlier closed-loop cards have been discontinued. Passengers who have any unutilised balance on these cards should ensure that they claim their refund before September 15. We request commuters to complete the process well in advance to avoid any last-minute inconvenience,” a CIDCO spokesperson stated.

Officials have reiterated that the older cards cannot be used for any station access or transit services across the Belapur-Pendhar corridor, making it essential for passengers holding balances to claim their money back ahead of the cutoff date.
