Colaba Civic School Headmaster Files BMC Complaint Against CJP Over School Audit

The headmaster of Colaba Market Civic School in Colaba has filed a formal complaint with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation against members of the Cockroach Janta Party following an infrastructure inspection at the facility.

The school visit was conducted as part of the CJP's nationwide "School Theek Karo" initiative, which was officially launched on Independence Day. The campaign urges citizens and volunteers to inspect municipal and government schools directly to evaluate whether students have access to essential amenities.

According to the party, the campaign focuses on assessing teaching staff availability, classroom infrastructure, electricity, safety measures, cleanliness, drinking water supply, and functional toilets across public educational institutions.

During their visit to the Colaba Market Civic School, CJP auditors reported observing multiple deficiencies within the premises. The team noted that the Telugu-medium section of the school lacked teachers and did not have an adequate number of benches for students.

The auditors also highlighted issues regarding hygiene and maintenance at the Colaba facility, pointing to toilets with poor sanitation, nonfunctioning faucets, and classrooms where garbage was left strewn around.

The headmaster's decision to file a complaint with the BMC represents the first major pushback against the CJP's inspection drive in Mumbai. Following the development, members of the party acknowledged that the complaint has left them wary about continuing their school audits in the city.
