College Student Detained After Hitting 15-Year-Old Schoolgirl in Vile Parle West

A 20-year-old college student has been detained by the Juhu police after allegedly knocking down a 15-year-old schoolgirl with a motorcycle on Gulmohar Road, near Mithibai College in Vile Parle West.

The incident occurred on August 18 around 8:20 am. The victim, identified as Ghai Samika Kaur, an American citizen, was walking to her tuition class when a speeding motorcyclist allegedly struck her from behind near a local Starbucks outlet.

Following the collision, Kaur sustained injuries to her head, legs, and hands. The rider allegedly fled the scene immediately after the impact without offering any medical assistance to the injured teenager.

Kaur was initially assisted by her friends, who brought her home following the accident. Her mother then rushed her to Nanavati Hospital for medical attention. Kaur received treatment for her injuries and was subsequently discharged from the hospital. Her condition is reported to be stable.

A video capturing the accident subsequently surfaced and circulated widely on social media platforms.

Based on the complaint, the Juhu police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and launched a probe into the hit-and-run incident. Police tracked down and detained the 20-year-old college student on Saturday. Authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the accused rider.
