Dahisar Pilgrim and Group of 37 Escape Nepal Floods by Reaching Border Early

A senior citizen from Dahisar and his group of 37 pilgrims narrowly escaped the devastating floods in Nepal by deciding to reach a border checkpoint two hours ahead of schedule.

Bajrang Lakshman Parab, a resident of Dahisar, recounted how the decision to beat the morning rush saved the entire group. The pilgrims were travelling towards the Nepal-China border to cross into Tibetan territory when the disaster unfolded.

According to Parab, the group opted to arrive at the border checkpoint two hours early to complete their immigration formalities before other travellers arrived. This early arrival allowed them to clear the checkpoint and reach safety before the floodwaters struck the area.

While Parab and all 37 members of his travel group escaped unharmed, the situation remains grim for others in the vicinity. Parab noted that other tourists whom the group had met during their journey, as well as local residents they had interacted with, were reported missing following the deluge.
