Daisy Shah slams election campaigners after fire breaks out near her Bandra East flat

A fire broke out at a house in the Bandra East area of Mumbai during an election campaign, prompting actress Daisy Shah to raise serious concerns over civic safety and criticize political campaigners. The incident occurred at night in the vicinity of Shah's residential apartment while she was walking her dogs.
Following the outbreak of the fire, the actress took to social media to share a video of the scene from her Instagram account. Shah expressed her outrage over the incident, attributing the fire to fireworks set off by individuals participating in the election campaign near the residential buildings. The incident has drawn widespread attention to the safety hazards and lack of civic sense often associated with election campaigns in crowded residential neighborhoods.
In her public reaction, Shah emphasized that she does not have any affiliation with any political party. However, she criticized the lack of responsibility shown by the campaigners, urging political groups to ensure that the teams they hire to manage their election campaigns possess basic civic sense and caution.
Shah also highlighted the preventive measures taken by her residential society. She noted that her building's committee had previously refused to allow the election campaigners entry into the premises to conduct door-to-door campaigning. Following the fire, Shah commended the committee's decision, stating that the refusal was entirely justified given the potential safety hazards.
The actress strongly condemned the practice of bursting crackers next to residential complexes, describing it as a highly dangerous and reckless act. She argued that the fire was not a natural calamity but was instead an avoidable incident caused by careless individuals. Shah concluded her statement by demanding that those responsible for the campaign take full accountability for the safety hazard they caused, stating that it is high time for such behavior to stop.
