David Dhawan to Direct Varun Dhawan in Upcoming Film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai
The upcoming Hindi feature film 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' has revealed its central storyline and promotional details ahead of its theatrical release slated for 2026. Directed by David Dhawan, the Bollywood comedy-drama stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside actor Ali Asgar.
The film's plot centers around Jaswinder, popularly known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan, who works as a professional wedding photographer. The story begins when Jass is hired to work at a wedding for the sister of Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur. During the event, Jass falls for Bani, who is charmed by his personality, eventually leading to their marriage.
However, the relationship faces severe strain five years later. Bani decides to ask for a divorce because Jass wants to have a child, an idea that she strongly opposes. The couple ends up in court, where the presiding judge, played by Ali Asgar, decides to annul the marriage after a period of six months. The judge issues this ruling in the hope that the husband and wife will reconcile their differences during this time.
Despite the court's intervention, Bani remains clear that she wants a permanent separation. Heartbroken by the situation, Jass decides to relocate from India to London. While living abroad, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and the two begin dating.
The situation complicates when Bani suddenly arrives at Jass's residence in London. She announces to him that she is pregnant with his child. In an unexpected twist of timing, Preet also informs Jass on the exact same day that she is expecting a child as well, leaving Jass to navigate relations with his two pregnant partners.
The movie's promotional campaign has commenced with the release of several media assets. The creators have made 63 photos and eight videos available to the public. Among the promotional materials is a featured track titled "Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go," which showcases the lead trio of Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde.
