Delivery Boy Booked in Andheri for Replacing 25 New TVs Worth Rs 12.37 Lakh

The Sakinaka police have registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against a former parcel delivery employee of an e-commerce company based in Andheri (East), who allegedly replaced new LED television sets with old ones before delivering them to customers.
The accused, identified as 24-year-old Aliyas Moda, allegedly swapped at least 25 new LED televisions, ranging from 50 to 75 inches in size, with old television units while the shipments were en route to buyers. The swapped appliances were collectively valued at Rs 12.37 lakh.
The fraudulent activity came to light after officials at the company's Chandivli warehouse received multiple complaints from customers reporting that old, mismatched televisions had been delivered instead of the brand-new models they had ordered. Several buyers refused to accept their parcels upon noticing damaged packaging and incorrect contents.
Among the customers who rejected and returned a delivery was Mayuresh Pai, director of LM Music Studio in Versova, a facility where song dubbing and recording for Bollywood films takes place.
Following the customer complaints, the e-commerce firm launched an internal inquiry and examined CCTV footage monitoring the inbound and outbound movement of consignments between May 25 and July 10.
During the internal probe, another delivery employee, Aryan Pal, revealed the modus operandi used by the accused. Pal informed the station manager, Nilesh E, that Moda had approached him to obtain delivery routes, customer locations, and shipment timings. Moda used this information to intercept consignments and substitute the new television sets with old units.
Pal also disclosed that Moda had initially promised him between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 to remain silent, and later paid him Rs 5,000.
Moda was dismissed from his job after the irregularities were uncovered by company officials. The warehouse administration subsequently approached the authorities.
According to a police officer, an FIR was registered on Monday based on the formal complaint filed by the warehouse management. Police confirmed that no arrests have been made in the case so far as investigations continue.
