Goregaon Brothers Reach Nepal to Search for Sister Missing in Floods

Two brothers from Goregaon, Srikant Nathan and Santosh Swaminathan, have arrived in Nepal to search for their sister and brother-in-law, who have been missing since catastrophic floods hit the Himalayan nation on August 26.

The missing couple, identified as Chitra Venkatraman and Venkatraman Balakrishnan, reside in Sydney, Australia. They had travelled to the region on a spiritual tour visiting Mount Kailash in Tibet as well as destinations across Nepal.

Prior to their disappearance, the couple was staying at a hotel in a mountain town alongside 13 other tourists. All members of the group went missing following the flood disaster.

After landing in Kathmandu, the two brothers have encountered severe obstacles in their efforts to trace their relatives. Intense water-logging has obstructed routes and hindered their journey from the capital city to the mountain town hotel where their kin were last known to be staying.
