KDMC and Kalyan Police Hold Ganeshotsav Coordination Meet in Kalyan West
The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation and the Kalyan police department held a joint coordination meeting at Acharya Atre Rangmandir in Kalyan West on Wednesday to review preparations for Ganeshotsav 2026. Nearly 550 to 600 citizens attended the gathering, including Ganesh mandal representatives, Police Mitras, and members of Shanti Mohalla Committees and Mahila Dakshata Committees.
Organised jointly by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 3, Kalyan, and the KDMC, the meeting aimed to address ground-level concerns of local mandals and strengthen coordination between civic bodies, law enforcement, and residents. The proceedings began at 5 pm with the ceremonial worship of a Ganesh idol and concluded at 8.05 pm.
A central focus of the meeting was a presentation on the KDMC's 'One Window Scheme' software. Civic officials used a PowerPoint presentation to guide mandal representatives through the application process and explain how the system functions to simplify and streamline festival permissions and administrative procedures.
The programme also included a special cyber awareness session designed to alert organisers and citizens to rising online fraud and provide safety measures to avoid falling victim to cybercrime. In addition, authorities screened a short film highlighting the harmful effects of noise pollution during public festivities.
DCP Zone 3 Atul Zende delivered the introductory address at the event. Senior officials in attendance included Additional Commissioner of Police for the East Regional Division in Kalyan Sanjay Jadhav and KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goel.
During the interaction, mandal representatives and residents raised issues regarding festival permissions, security bandobast, traffic management, and noise regulations. Civic and police officials assured participants that their grievances would be reviewed at the appropriate level and resolved wherever possible, stressing the need for continuous coordination.
Authorities appealed to all Ganesh mandals and citizens across Kalyan-Dombivli to strictly follow prescribed guidelines throughout the festival. Officials stated that collective responsibility and timely cooperation between mandals and authorities would be vital to maintaining peace and safety during the celebrations.
