Maharashtra Releases 2026 FYJC First Merit List For Over 20.3 Lakh Junior College Seats

The Maharashtra Department of School Education and Sports released the First Year Junior College (FYJC) first merit list for the 2026 academic year on May 29, 2026. This release allows Class 11 student aspirants across Maharashtra to check their college allotment status and proceed with the junior college admission process. The list is accessible online through the official admission website at mahafyjcadmissions.in.
The publication of the merit list officially initiated the next round of the Class 11 admission process in the state. According to the admission timetable, both the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) Round 1 and the Quota Admissions started on May 29, 2026. These admission processes are scheduled to continue until June 3, 2026, closing at exactly 6 p.m.
With more than 20.3 lakh seats available across various junior colleges, a large number of students are expected to participate in this phase. Candidates who have registered themselves for junior college admissions can now log on to the official portal to view the results of their registration and see their specific college allotments.
For students who have successfully secured an allotment in a junior college, taking immediate next steps is necessary. Allotted students must complete their formal admission requirements within the designated period. These mandatory formalities include completing document verification and making the necessary fee payments before the June 3 deadline.
According to reports, the newly released first FYJC merit list showed a marginal decline in admission cut-offs. The cut-off marks dropped by up to two percentage points compared to previous levels, potentially affecting admission dynamics across different colleges.
The Maharashtra Department of School Education and Sports has set a strict timeline for the completion of these admission formalities. All candidates who have been allotted a junior college must ensure they finish the verification and fee payment processes within the designated period, which concludes on June 3, 2026, at 6 p.m.
