Meghwadi Police Arrest Kharghar Doctor For Fake Varicose Veins Insurance Claim

The Meghwadi police in Mumbai have arrested a doctor in connection with a fraudulent insurance claim case involving forged medical documents. The accused medical professional operated a hospital in the Kharghar locality, which has since shut down.
The arrest followed an investigation into an insurance claim submitted in 2025. According to the police, the medical papers submitted to the insurance company falsely claimed that a patient had undergone a surgical procedure for varicose veins. To support the fraudulent claim, various pharmacy bills had also been attached to the submission.
Following a complaint regarding the matter, the police initiated an inquiry and ordered a formal medical examination of the purported patient. The medical examination revealed that the individual had never undergone any such surgery.
Investigators are currently working to identify other individuals involved in the scheme. The police are tracing who else signed the forged medical papers and pharmacy bills that were presented to the insurance company. Authorities have stated that more arrests are likely as the investigation continues.
