Mumbai Lake Levels Reach 95.83 Per Cent With 13.86 Lakh Million Litres

Water levels across the seven reservoirs supplying drinking water to Mumbai reached 95.83 per cent of their total live storage capacity as of 6 am on Wednesday, August 26, according to data from the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.

The seven lakes collectively held 13,86,958 million litres of water. Among the reservoirs, Vihar remained completely full at 100 per cent capacity, while Upper Vaitarna recorded the lowest storage level among the network at 89.76 per cent.

The current water stock stands slightly lower than the levels documented during the same period last year. During the corresponding timeframe in the previous year, the reservoirs held 13,91,854 million litres, which accounted for 96.16 per cent of their total live storage capacity.

However, the lake levels remain higher than those recorded in 2024. During that year, the seven reservoirs contained 13,80,267 million litres, representing 95.36 per cent of the total live storage capacity.
