Mumbai Metro One Launches WhatsApp Digital Passes on Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Line

Mumbai Metro One has launched a fully digital metro pass on WhatsApp, enabling commuters travelling along the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor to purchase, store, and use transit passes directly through the messaging application.

The service allows passengers across the metro line, which serves key transit hubs including Andheri, to purchase multi-trip passes and stored-value travel digitally. The move eliminates the need for commuters to purchase, carry, or recharge physical metro smart cards.

According to an official release, the initiative is promoted by Reliance Infrastructure as part of efforts to streamline ticketing and modernize transit options for regular passengers on the corridor.

Under the new system, commuters can purchase both Trip passes and Store Value passes entirely within WhatsApp. Once generated, the digital passes can also be stored in and accessed directly through mobile wallet platforms, including Google Wallet and Apple Wallet, allowing passengers to manage their daily metro travel seamlessly on their smartphones.
