Raigad Signs Rs 5,480 Crore Industrial MoUs Across 73 Projects in Alibag

Industries signed memorandums of understanding worth Rs 5,480.93 crore with the Maharashtra government across 73 projects during the Raigad District Investment Conference 2026 held in Alibag on Wednesday. The investments are projected to generate 4,413 jobs in Raigad district, according to Guardian Minister Bharat Sheth Gogawale.

The investment commitments are planned to strengthen the district's industrial sector and create employment for local youth. Gogawale announced that the state government will provide infrastructure and institutional support to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) alongside major industrial projects to stimulate local economic growth.

To resolve industry issues, the minister highlighted the 'Udyog Setu' initiative, which conducts online grievance meetings on the second Friday of every month between 9 am and 11 am. Senior officials from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), MSEDCL, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, and the Labour Department participate in these sessions to address industrial concerns.

According to district administration figures, Raigad currently has over two lakh registered MSMEs employing more than six lakh people. The district exceeded its targets under the Chief Minister's Employment Generation Programme for 2024-25 and 2025-26, receiving a certificate of appreciation from Industries Minister Uday Samant. The district houses nine MIDC estates, three cooperative industrial estates, 19 mega projects, and over 200 major industrial units, including JSW, Tata Steel, and Sudarshan Chemical Industries.

Raigad recorded Rs 51,809 crore in annual exports during 2025-26, marking a 21.27 per cent rise over the previous year. Export shipments include chemicals, iron and steel, electronics, pharmaceuticals, meat, and marine products sent to the US, UAE, Vietnam, Italy, China, and the UK.

The state has also approved Rs 23 crore for road and sewage infrastructure in the Panvel industrial estate, Rs 12.44 crore for an express power feeder at Kamothe, and Rs 8.10 crore for a bamboo cluster in Murud. Proposed future clusters include Ganesh idol manufacturing and fish processing in Pen, engineering in Panvel, and garments and bamboo in Mahad.

The conference was attended by MLA Mahendra Dalvi, District Collector Kishan Jawale, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Neha Bhosale, and Superintendent of Police Aanchal Dalal.
