Two Palghar Medical College Staffers Suspended After Student Forced to Perform Namaz

A female student at a private medical college hostel in Posheri village of Wada taluka, Palghar district, was allegedly subjected to ragging and forced to perform namaz on Sunday night. Following the incident, college authorities suspended two staffers, including a hostel warden and a teacher.
The incident has caused significant tension on the college campus. In response to the allegations, right-wing groups staged protests at the institute, prompting the authorities to deploy police personnel to maintain law and order and prevent any further disturbance.
Local police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday night after the matter was reported. The police action and subsequent suspensions of the hostel warden and the teacher came after early findings in the investigation of the incident.
The private medical college is located in the Posheri area of Wada taluka in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The investigation into the alleged ragging and forced religious practice is currently ongoing.
