Two Palghar Medical College Staffers Suspended After Student Forced To Perform Namaz

Two staffers at a private medical college hostel in Posheri village of Wada taluka, located in Maharashtra's Palghar district, have been suspended after a female student was allegedly forced to perform namaz in an apparent ragging incident. The incident has sparked tension on the campus and led to police intervention.

The alleged ragging incident occurred on Sunday night inside the hostel of the private medical institution. According to reports, a female student was forced to perform the Islamic prayer against her will.

Following the incident, the college administration took disciplinary action against its staff members. A hostel warden and a teacher at the private medical college were suspended from their duties following the allegations.

The incident triggered significant tension on the college campus in Posheri village. Right-wing groups staged protests at the site, which prompted authorities to deploy police personnel to the campus to maintain order and prevent any potential disturbance.

Following the protests, the local police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday night. The police have commenced an investigation into the allegations of ragging at the medical hostel.
